(US) Junior Sales Engineer

MEDER electronic is a global leader in the custom design, development and manufacture of Magnetic Reed Switch, Reed Relay and Reed Sensor solutions.

Due to expanding business we are currently looking for a Junior Sales Engineer for our U.S division in West Wareham, MA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Assist Sales as the primary technical interface for customers.
• Work with customer’s engineers to choose or design the correct product for an application.  If a non standard product is required, provide the interface between MEDER engineering and customer’s engineering.
• Provide applications assistance for incoming phone calls
• Communicate with other MEDER facilities and teams for quotes and technical assistance
• Creating, updating and controlling technical drawings.
  Perform and facilitate routine reviews, updates and corrections to engineering documentation (drawings, BOM, Work Instructions, and Product specifications).
• Conduct experiments to test and analyze existing designs and equipment to obtain data on performance of product, resulting in formal reports.
• Follow all Quality System policies and procedures.
• Work closely with internal and external resources, suppliers etc.
• This position will be responsible for an understanding and utilization of the following material and equipment to satisfy daily requirements: Microsoft Office software, computers, email, telephone system, Navision software, production schedules, soldering techniques, measurement equipment, electro-mechanical theory.
• Enter new opportunities and sample requests via NAV as necessary.  Prepare customer correspondence (quotes, letters, etc) as required. Follow up on quotations, samples and opportunities on a regular basis to seek potential sales. Communicate information, issues, concerns, etc. to upper management and all appropriate people to ensure awareness and necessary actions are being taken to resolve existing or potential situations.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

• Maintain all necessary records and prepare and submit all specified reports as required.  Maintain work area in a safe, clean, neat and orderly condition.  Comply with all company rules and regulations.
• Perform other related duties, projects, tasks and assignments as required or directed by manager.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Experience with AutoCAD

SKILLS:

• Proficient with  Solidworks.
• Proficient personal computer skills.
• Ability to produce mechanical drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple work assignments efficiently.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, detail oriented problem solver.

SOFTWARE / WEB:

MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Databases, Navision, Citrix, Outlook, AutoCAD, Solidworks

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to Sales and Engineering Groups and top management.
• Bi-lingual ability a plus, (Preference for Spanish)

 REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
